This darkly-comic film takes a satirical look at the contradictory pressures faced by women today. It examines how television and social media can be fun and expressive spaces to explore identity, but simultaneously a gilded prison that encourages women to conform to strict beauty ideals. Part horror movie, part comedy, Make Me Up reflects on the shortcomings of our journey towards equality throughout the past century.

Screening at the London Film Festival from 12th-14th October; Glasgow Film Theatre on 14th October; Edinburgh Filmhouse on 16th October and further screenings across the UK throughout October. The film will also be broadcast on BBC4 in November.
